Frequently Asked Questions

What aircraft may I fly with this qualification?
A Commercial Pilot Licence — Aeroplane, CPL(A), together with a frozen ATPL, allows the holder to work professionally as a First Officer and, once the applicable experience and licensing requirements have been met, progress towards a command position.

Where are my licence and qualifications recognised?
The licence allows the holder to work for operators established in EASA Member States, subject to the applicable licensing, type rating and operator requirements. EASA licences are widely recognised internationally, although additional validation or conversion requirements may apply outside the EASA system.

What are the entry requirements?
Applicants must hold a Private Pilot Licence — Aeroplane, PPL(A), a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate, an upper secondary education diploma or equivalent qualification, and an appropriate level of English.

Where can I obtain the medical certificate?
Hospital de Día Pío XII (Madrid) - Tel.: +34 91 353 15 10
C.M.A. by Quirón Prevención (Mallorca) - Tel.: +34 693 930 235

What are the official examinations like?
The theoretical examinations are multiple-choice tests. Students have six sittings in total and up to four attempts per subject. Flight skill tests are conducted by an authorised examiner, with the assessment criteria explained in advance.

What can I do if I need additional training?
Not all students progress at the same pace. Those who need additional support may book individual tuition, extra flight training, or additional simulator sessions with the school’s instructors. Simulator time may also be used for refresher training or to prepare for airline selection assessments and future skill tests.

Will I receive instructor support if I choose the online course?
Yes. Online students are assigned a tutor and can receive support by email, video call, and, where appropriate, in-person tutorials at the school with the relevant subject instructors.

How long will it take me to complete the course?
The duration depends on several factors, including the time available for study, the student’s flight availability, progress, and weather conditions. As a general guide, the average duration of the modular programme is approximately 36 months.
